Stone: Natural Thin Veneer
Natural thin veneer stone will offer alternatives to standard veneer stone:
First, the product is not weight bearing. When one is considering natural thin stone veneer, the installation should not require the use of added foundational support. This means that in many applications where standard stone veneer is not possible, natural thin stone veneer is possible.
Natural thin stone veneer is usually packaged in boxes, sometimes in bulk. Because more face footage can be shipped per pallet than standard stone veneer, the transportation costs will drop considerably when compared to standard stone veneer. Lower shipping costs and ease of transportation also mean better access to a variety of products.
Natural thin stone veneer is usually made from standard veneer stone. The stone goes through the extra process of slicing down stone to an ideal thickness. As a result, natural thin veneer stone will typically be more expensive than standard veneer stone.
Natural thin veneer stone is less costly to install than standard veneer stone. This is another area where natural thin veneer stone will provide cost savings. It is much easier to cut or chisel a stone that is 1" to 3" than a stone that is 3" x to 5". The installation of natural thin veneer stone will also be quicker. A stone mason will not have to wait as long for cement to set up and support stone with natural thin veneer stone. Depending on the application, budget, aesthetic requirements we at the M.
